Jessica Edelmann MPT, AT, Certified Pilates Instructor, has been a licensed physical therapist since 2001 and has worked with a wide range of patient populations, ages, and types of injuries. She specializes in identifying and treating disorders of the spine and the extremities. Jessica enjoys the challenge of looking at each client and his/her injuries as a whole. She starts with hands-on manual therapy to establish freedom of movement in the tissue, and correct posture and body mechanics. Then transitions to active Pilates-based exercises for neuromuscular re-education and strengthening. She uses very gentle manual therapy techniques including soft tissue and joint mobilization, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, muscle energy techniques, neuromobilization techniques and osteopathic manual medicine techniques. Jessica strives to empower her patients by teaching them how to treat themselves through a specially designed home exercise program and Pilates exercises and teaching injury prevention. Jessica enjoys working with patients to help them achieve their individual rehabilitation goals, decrease pain and increase function.
Jessica’s passion is with treating spine and orthopedic injuries utilizing an integrative manual therapy and pilates approach. She is also passionate about working with prenatal and post-partum patients to help them minimize pregnancy related neck and low back pain; and relearn how to activate the deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles post-partum. Jessica learned the intense value of Pilates integrated with physical therapy following her second pregnancy and it has been the keystone of her postnatal well-being.
Jessica graduated from UW-La Crosse with her B.S. in exercise and sports science/athletic training; and her M.S. in physical therapy. She has also continued her education manual therapy and craniosacral therapy classes at Michigan State University’s Osteopathic School of Medicine, Upledger Institute and the Barral Institute. Jessica completed her comprehensive Pilates training through Balanced Body.
Jessica, originally from Wisconsin, now lives in Maple Grove with her husband and two sons. When not treating patients, Jessica enjoys family time, all outdoor activities, boating, and scrap booking.
